 Data sheets for supplemental products

Supplemental products

Below you will find additional products available for use with our RTV-2 silicone products.  For more detailed information, please consult the data sheets or contact technical support.

Library Life is defined as the integrity of a cured RTV-2 silicone mold as it sits unused. Silicone molds can deteriorate due to chemical attack from multiple castings, exceeding the known service temperature or internal break down (known as reversion) of the silicone.  For results of our studies, please see the Library Life Data Sheet.

GI-2020A
This activator will dramatically increase the library life of molds from approximately one year to at least ten years.  Available in Clear or Pink versions.
GI-1000AHT This activator increases the high temperature resistance from approximately 350°F to approximately 450°F. It will exhibit some inhibition sensitivity. Data sheet
GI-800A This activator will dramatically increase the library life of molds from approximately one year to at least ten years. Data sheet
GI-179A This activator can increase tensile strength and elongation while decreasing Shore A or "00" hardness in tin cured silicones under Shore A 25. It will also increase library life of molds or animatronic skins from one year to ten years. Data sheet
GI-177A This unique activator will give an extremely accelerated work and cure time. Designed to be used with any tin cured base to patch, repair, or "glue" cured silicone. Data sheet
UFC Ultra Fast Catalyst, allows you to cure the silicone much faster without dramatically increasing the embrittling of the cured silicone. Data sheet
GI-245 A-2 When added to GI-1110, GI-587 or GI-245, the silicone will be softened and the elongation increased without a dramatic increase in bleed out as seen with traditional softeners. Data sheet
Paint System A one component silicone suspended in a non hydrocarbon solvent used as a carrier when externally painting a cured silicone piece such as in animatronics or medical simulators. Data sheet

Addition (Platinum Cure) Products

PT-Accelerator
When added to any platinum cure products in very small amounts, the curing reaction is dramatically accelerated at room temperature.

for further technical assistance
XP-588 When added to any platinum cure product, it will accelerate the cure rate. It is a diluted version of PT-Accelerator. Contact Silicones, Inc.
for further technical assistance
P-684 When added to P-656, the silicone will be softened without a dramatic increase in leaching of silicone oils. Data sheet
P-690 When added to P-656, the silicone will be softened and a sticky surface will be obtained, enhancing prosthetic pieces' ability to adhere to skin. This will not give permanent adhesion acting alone. Data sheet

SI-661
When added to certain silicones, it will create a non-flowing (thixotropic) effect, allowing the silicone to be applied to vertical surfaces or for glove molding.
SI-Thinner A non-reactive silicone oil used to lower the viscosity of any silicone. The mechanical properties of the cured rubber will be changed. Data sheet
SI-Primer When used on a non-silicone substrate, it promotes the adhesion of the silicone. Must be applied prior to pouring the silicone onto select surfaces (non-silicone substrates) to obtain cohesion failure (sticking). Data sheet
SI-479 A silicone-based solvent that can be used to clean cured silicone or as a diluent for the Paint System. Data sheet
